Regarded as one of the all-time batting greats, Kohli also holds the record for the highest Instagram follower count, totalling 262 million. His popularity has experienced a 1% uptick since the tournament commenced.
Compared with cricket players from all teams, Kohli can also take pride in being the world’s most popular player on social media.
Shubman Gill is the second most popular player in the squad thanks to a 12% increase in followers (1.5 million) since the start of the World Cup.
