The final between Paradigm Borivali Warriors and the Juhu Heroes was nothing less than a thriller. Both the finalists had marched to the ground with an intent to earn the title for themselves. Winning the toss, Paradigm Borivali Warriors chose to bat first.


Shaky start for Borivali Warriors

The Warriors started off shakily and lost two wickets in the initial three overs but then a 54-run stand between Shahen Mistry and Niket Korgaonkar stabilised the innings for them. However, after no other batsmen were able to score any significant runs except for Lavesh Mehra, the match winner in semi-finals scored quick 44 runs off 20 balls which helped Borivali Warriors to a decent total of 157. Nikesh Patani scalped four wickets for Juhu Heroes.


Pratik Patil’s heroics led Juhu Heroes towards victory

Chasing 158, Juhu Heroes lost their three wickets in just five overs and it looked like the Borivali Warriors were completely under control of the game. But Pratik Patil, right-hand batsman built a steady partnership of 134 with Sagar Ghadigaonkar. Ghadigaonkar scored 47 runs off 41 deliveries and remained not out. Pratik ran through the bowling attack of the Warriors and smashed them for 14 fours and a six, that came off the last delivery of the 19th over to finish the match.

Pratik Patil was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning knock of 81 off 50 balls. With this victory, Juhu Heroes are the winners of the first season of Sai Mumbai Masters Premier League.
