One of the most active cricket hubs in the country, Mumbai is well-known for its ability to produce world-class cricketers. Men's Team and Women's Team alike are known to be one of the best cricketing sides in the country and proving their capabilities, the women's team clinched Mumbai their first title this season.

On Thursday, Mumbai went on to defeat Jharkhand by seven wickets in the finals and clinched the Under-23 Women's T20 title. Bowling first, Mumbai bowlers hassled the Jharkhand batswomen by restricting them to a meagre total of 63 in 20 overs.

Later the Mumbai team attained the double-digit target in just 13.2 overs with a loss of three wickets.

With this win, the Mumbai girls have secured a ₹4 lakh cash prize money that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hands out to the winners. Adding to this, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) also decided to hand a ₹4 lakh prize to the team.

The decision was taken after a proposal from MCA secretary Sanjay Naik was approved unanimously by the MCA Apex Council in a meeting on Thursday.
