India captain Virat Kohli has been rested from the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka with Rohit Sharma ready to step in for him to lead the men in blue.
Siddharth Kaul and Shreyas Iyer have been called up while spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been ignored for the 50-over format.
Apart from this, the Indian team has been selected for the remainder of the series against Sri Lanka while rest of the squad remains unchanged.
The three-match ODI series starts on December 10 while Kohli will be a part of the third test against Sri Lanka on December 3.
