In their last league match, Mumbai defeated Assam by 83 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket tournament tie held in Mumbai on November 18. Chasing 207 runs to win, Assam were only able to score 123-8 in their designated 20 overs.

The hosts dominated the match from the beginning and managed to outplay Assam in all departments. Batting first, Mumbai managed to pile a commendable total, owing to solid 82 from Aditya Tare. Mumbai managed to put 206-5 in 20 overs on board in the match held at Wankhede Stadium.

The first wicket partnership between Prithvi Shaw(41) and Aditya put 139 runs on the board which made a solid foundation for Mumbai. Tare managed to score the 82-run knock in just 48 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and one six.

On the other hand, spinner Riyan Parag came out with the best bowling performance for Assam picking 3-30. He also managed to score a handy 33-ball 38 as his team lost to a solid Mumbai bowling lineup.

Meanwhile, Assam batsmen, Sibsankar Roy and Amit Sinha scored 22 each in the game. The openers once again failed to give a good start to the team as Pallav Das returned with a duck and his partner Hrishikesh Tamuly managed to score only 5.
