Akash Parkar was the star of the night when he hit a six to help the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East defeat Namo Bandra Blasters in the T20 Mumbai League on Friday.

Namo Blasters had mounted 182 runs in the first innings and had set the Knights 183 to win. All-rounder Akash Parkar was facing the last ball when his team needing him to hit maximum. He struck a full toss and scored guided his team to victory.

The Knights needed 44 runs off the last 2 overs.

Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 72 off 57 balls in the first innings to help the Blasters score a whopping 182. Aman Khan was a standout performer who smacked six sixes and as many fours in his 47-ball 85.

Shashank Singh made 42 off 28 balls early on followed by a half-century stand for the third wicket between captain Suryakumar Yadav (36 off 22 balls) and Praful Waghela (28 off 28 balls).

This leaves the Knights on the top of the table with six points.
