The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a cash-rich cricket tournament and attracts lakhs of cricket fans to the stadium. However, this year, the tournament has another reason for the fans to attend matches. Amitabh Choudhary, the acting Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced that the fan who will take a one-handed catch in the crowd will be given ₹1 Lakh as a reward.
Alongside, one fan who will take the most popular catch of the season will drive home a Tata Harrier.
We are excited to continue our partnership with TATA Motors and have their newly launched SUV, Harrier, as the Official Partner of the IPL, 2019. Harrier will also continue with the very popular Harrier Fan Catch where fans are rewarded ₹1 lakh for taking a single-handed catch of a six. One lucky fan who wins the most popular Harrier Fan Catch of the season will drive the luxury SUV home,” Amitabh Choudhary said.
The fans will have to register themselves in the competition and have to wear an orange colour t-shirt to enroll themselves in the competition.
Meanwhile, the twelfth season of IPL will begin March 23 onwards due to upcoming Lok Sabha elections with defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore locking horns in the opening game of the season.
