A 16-year-old girl who had recently completed Class 10 tragically lost her life after reportedly falling from the eighth-floor terrace of Parichay Building in Dahisar East on Sunday. The incident occurred when she had gone to the terrace of her residential complex to click photographs and make sunset reels.
Details of the Incident
The deceased, identified as Janhavi Savla, was a student at an international school and was awaiting her Class 10 exam results. She was the only child of her parents. The Dahisar police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in connection with the incident. Preliminary investigation suggests there was no foul play involved. Police stated that Janhavi was alone on the terrace at the time of the fall.
Janhavi lived with her parents on the seventh floor of Parichay Building, located in Mistika Nagar, Dahisar East. The incident occurred around 7 PM on Sunday. She had reportedly gone to the eighth-floor terrace to capture the sunset. While taking pictures, she is believed to have accidentally slipped from the edge of the terrace, leading to a fatal fall.

Her father, Sameer Savla, 42, a garment trader, had given her permission to go to the terrace. He was seated on a bench on the ground floor when the incident occurred, and her body fell just a few metres from where he was sitting. With assistance from neighbours, Janhavi’s parents rushed her to Pragati Hospital in Mistika Nagar, Dahisar East, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
So far, police investigations have not revealed any suspicious circumstances. Statements from both parents have been recorded, and they confirmed that there was no foul play. According to police, Janhavi was alone on the terrace at the time and may have slipped while sitting on the terrace wall and taking pictures.
