742 Tickets Worth ₹10 Lakhs Seized Under 'Operation Thunder'

There have been multiple incidents where touts book tickets using fake ids through the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) portal. For the first time, with the help of the newly established Railway Police Force (RPF) Cyber Cell in Pune, PRF personnel and Chief Security Commissioner conducted a raid to arrest the touts.

The raid was named as 'Operation Thunder' and was conducted across five railway divisions i.e. Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Nagpur, and Bhusaval. 23 touts have been arrested and over 742 tickets which valued ₹10 lakhs have been seized by the RPF.    

The arrested people have been produced before the concerned court and have been remanded in judicial custody.
