Child trafficking gang busted in Mumbai, three arrested

Mumbai police have busted a gang of child traffickers and rescued four minor children from their clutches here on Friday. It is to be noted here that the three accused arrested in this case work in the Bollywood.

Crime Branch DCP Shashikant Satav informed that the gang involved in this case used to lure parents to send their wards to foreign countries for their further studies. Many gullible parents had even paid the gang members Rs 10 lakh per child dreaming big for their children. The gang then desert these children near Gurudwaras in Europe and they used to bring their passport back leaving these children stranded on the foreign land.

On Thursday, Anti-child trafficking squad of the Mumbai Police received a tip-off about movements of this gang and a trap was laid at the airport. The police succeeded in arresting the three accused who are identified as Arif Shafi Farooqui (38), Rajesh Pawar (47), and Fatima Farid Ahmed (48) and work in the Bollywood in different categories. The accused have confessed to their crime and informed police that they trafficked 15-20 children in Europe.
