Amarendra Mishra, the bodyguard of the assailant Mauris Noronha, who is arrested in connection with the murder of Uddhav Thackeray's former Shiv Sena corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar, applied for bail in the Sessions Court on Saturday. His application has been opposed by Ghosalkar's wife Tejaswini through an intervention application. After hearing the sides of all the parties, the court clarified that it will decide on Mishra's bail application on Tuesday.
Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot by Mauris during a Facebook Live on February 9. Later, he also committed suicide by shooting himself. Mauris’s bodyguard Mishra was arrested by the police as a suspected accused in this case. Mauris gave us a locker. In it, he kept a pistol and also kept the key of the locker with himself. We were not there when the incident took place. Therefore, while seeking bail, Mishra demanded that he should be granted bail.
Mishra and Mauris purchased 15 cartridges in December 2023. Also, Mishra has a criminal background and was allegedly employed by Mauris. Mishra was present there at the time of the incident. He is seen in the CCTV camera footage. Tejaswini Ghosalkar claimed in the court that the case is being investigated and it appears that Mishra is involved in the crime. Also, he demanded rejection of Mishra's bail application. On the other hand, he hid the information from the police that Mishra was allowed to keep the pistol with him. The court was told by the police that they would also question him as to how he left his own pistol with Mauris.
