Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has sent summons to actor Sahil Khan and four others in the Mahadev Book Betting App case. In this case, Sahil Khan had approached the court for pre-arrest bail. But his application was rejected. The case was recently transferred to the Crime Branch. After that, accused Amit Sharma was summoned on Thursday. But he did not appear. Now the crime branch has summoned actor Sahil Khan, his brother Sam and another accused Hitesh Khushlani to attend the inquiry on Friday.


Complainant Prakash Bankar has made many serious allegations in this matter. According to the complaint, the accused Chandrakar and others are active participants in fixing the results of major cricket matches and series organised in India with the dishonest intention of earning profit through match fixing. It has been said in the complaint that accomplices from abroad are also involved. It has also been alleged in the complaint that Chandrakar works through Dinesh Khambat and Chander Aggarwal in London for match fixing. Their names have also been mentioned in the complaint. Also, all the betting websites are run through a person named Amit Sharma. Mumbai Police will now investigate this matter.

The accused are alleged to have committed a total of INR 15,000 crores of gambling and cyber fraud between January 2019 and November 2023. A case was registered against 31 persons under IPC 420, 465, 467, 468, 120 (B), 12 (A), Maharashtra Gambling Prevention Act and Section 66 (C), 66 (F) of Information Technology Act. The crime branch will now investigate the case. Section 66 (f) of the Information Technology Act applies to cyber terrorism. The names of Khiladi betting apps, portals and websites along with the promoters of Mahadev Book Betting have also been mentioned in the complaint.
