Ahead of the Republic Day celebration, Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested nine suspected terrorists across the state. The ATS arrested them from Aurangabad and Mumbra in Thane over the suspicion of carrying out terrorist attacks on the 70th Republic Day celebration and upcoming elections this year.

According to sources, the members arrested belong to People’s Front India which is a terrorist organisation and it recruits young people through social media.

During their search, the ATS arrested four people from Mumbra and five people from Aurangabad. This happened after the intelligence agency had already been warned of a terrorist attack on Saturday.
