In the current scenario, child pornography is easily available and accessible on porn websites. In order to put a stop to such videos, the Central government has decided to take stern steps. As per the amendments were done in POCSO act, commercialisation of child pornography, watching videos of the same or possessing videos can attract a jail term of 5 years.

This is non-bailable offence and on being caught for the second time, the accused will get a jail term of seven years. Currently, according to POCSO act, accused gets a jail term of three years.

The central government is waiting for the approval of the Ministry of Law and Justice. It is believed that the ministry might give an approval by next week. Once it gets an approval, the proposal will be sent to the cabinet.
