On Wednesday, December 15, the Bombay High Court modified one of its bail conditions imposed on Aryan Khan and allowed him to attend the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) whenever called with prior notice of 72 hours, highlighted reports.

Last week, Khan had moved the high court with a plea to modify his bail condition of the weekly attendance at the investigating officer’s office in the city in connection to the NCB case every Friday.

On October 28, Khan was granted bail after being in custody since October 3 post his arrest at an international cruise terminal. Some of his conditions for bail included weekly three-hour attendance every Friday at Mumbai’s NCB office.

Others included details to be given with the itinerary when travelling outside Mumbai. Whilst Khan wanted his attendance condition to be altered, he hadn’t specified what change he wanted. On Wednesday, the HC heard the plea when his senior counsel, Amit Desai submitted that now with the investigation being handled by the SIT from Delhi, Khan’s weekly attendance be changed to allow him to attend Delhi SIT whenever asked.

Desai, according to accounts, added that it would ease the burden on the police since they need to be there each time for “bandobast”. He believes it would enable the force to be available for other matters.
