BJP leaders flout COVID-19 rules at MLA's wedding; police to take action

As per reports, senior leaders from BJP did not wear masks at MLA Ram Satpute's wedding held in Solapur. A video and pictures from the wedding were shared on social media which showed that the safety rules set by the government were not followed.

A few days back, users on social media shared the video of a BJP MLA's wedding which soon went viral, and soon after the same, people criticized he leader for not maintaining social distancing norms and stated that the same were being flouted. Following this, officials have informed that the police has ordered a probe and investigations will be held regarding the same.

As per reports, Ram Satpute, an MLA from Solapur's Malshiras assembly constituency got married on Sunday, December 20, 2020. The wedding was graced by several other leaders and hundreds of people, who were seen without masks. This raised concerns among the officials, as these leaders not only flouted the rules but did not lead by example either!

Among the people present at the occasion were former CM Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra State BJP chief Chandrakant Patil, BJP leader Pravin Darekar and many others. Their photographs were soon released with the married couple, whereby the leaders and attendees were seen without masks.

Officials state that the police have noted the same and are planning to take strict actions against the leaders. Joint Police Commissioner Ravindra Shisve has taken the lead for the case and has directed the Senior officer at Alankar police station to initiate a probe.

Besides not wearing the masks, Satpute and his family invited more than 50 people at the wedding, despite knowing the limit set by the start government. The video shared from the ceremony showed many more guests and this too has been noted. Reports state that some pictures were also shared on social media.
