On Thursday, a prominent film financier, Yusuf Lakdawala passed away. He was earlier arrested by the Enforcement Directorate and was then lodged in the city’s Arthur Road jail. On September 6, Lakdawala was admitted to the prison hospital as he was suffering from cancer, highlighted reports.
This city-based builder was arrested by the ED in regards to a land grabbing case. On Wednesday morning he was referred to JJ Hospital due to the deteriorating nature of his health. On Thursday afternoon, the police claim that they were apprised of Lakdawala’s death. They added that no foul play was detected in his death.
Desai added that Lakdawala, a 76-year-old was suffering from cancer and was thus lodged in the prison hospital on September 6. Wednesday morning by the jail doctors he was referred to the JJ Hospital due to his deteriorating condition. On Thursday afternoon, the police were informed about his death and no foul play was lodged.
ANI reported that an accidental death report has been lodged and the death cause is still to be determined.
According to certain reports, Lakdawala wasn’t just a famous builder but also a financier of Bollywood and D-Gang.
