Car parking lift collapses in Borivali; one dead, one seriously injured

One labourer died and another was injured in an accident when a car parking lift in the Om Prathamesh building on Link Road in Borivali (West) collapsed on Saturday, May 31 in the morning. 

A car parking lift in the 21-storey Om Prathamesh skyscraper in Borivali collapsed at around 11.08 am on Saturday, instantly trapping two people in the pit. Upon receiving information about the incident, fire brigade personnel immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations.

Two people trapped under the collapsed elevator were rescued by firefighters and admitted to Shatabdi Hospital. After examination, doctors at the hospital declared Shubham Dhuri (30) dead, while Sujit Yadav (45) suffered serious head injuries and is in stable condition.  Mumbai Police and Fire Department officials are currently investigating how exactly the car parking lift collapsed.
