Dongri Building Collapse: Case Registered against the Trustees, Officers and Contractor

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) chief Uday Samant said that he has directed the authorities to re-audit 23 buildings which have been declared as dangerous.

The Kessarbai building collapse in Dongri claimed 13 lives leaving many injured. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has offered ₹5 lakhs to the kin of the deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured. He has further ordered a thorough investigation in this matter.

However, a case has been registered in Dongri Police Station and inspector Sandip Bhagdikar said that a case has been registered against the trustees, contractors and officers of the building under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 338 (causing grievous hurt by endangering personal safety of others, 304 (A) (causing death by negligence) and 34.
