Case filed against five healthcare workers from Thane for accepting bribe of INR 1.5 lakhs

As per reports, a leader from MNS was informed about the same, and was told that a doctor and his team were accepting a bribe for offering ICU beds in Thane's global hospital.

A case has been registered against the a few doctors and their accomplices for taking a bribe of INR 1.5 lakh for an ICU bed in Thane Municipal Corporation's Global Hospital. After the matter came to light, the police registered the complaint under sections 420, 286 and 34 at Kapurbawdi police station.

Officials knew about the matter after Mayor Naresh  Mhaske ordered a thorough inquiry regarding the same. Concerned teams followed up on the same, and the case was given a priority on the instructions of the officials.

The accused have been identified as Pervez, Nazneen, Abid Khan, Taj Khan and Abdul Ghaffar Khan who are associated with m/s Omsai Health Care Pvt. Ltd. Action is being taken against them based on the above-mentioned charges.

Currently, the TMC is offering free treatment facility to the patinets at the Global COVID-19 centre. However, the officials understood the shocking manner on knowing about the corruption. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) officials had revealed about the matter on Thursday, April 22, 2021, when party's Thane district President Avinash Jadhav was told that there was no bed available around 12:30 pm.

However, between 3.30 am and 3.30 am, a patient from Vasai was admitted after they paid INR 1.5 lakh, and the patient was told that everyone has a share in this money and the money goes to the ministers. This information was recorded as a part of the sting operation, on the mobile, and the same was sent to the Commissioner of Police by Avinash Jadhav.
