Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) team who have been interrogating the accused in connection with Nalasopara explosives found out a link between murders of Dr Narendra Dabholkar, president of Andhashraddha Nirmulan Sanitizer, MM Kalburgi, Comrade Govind Pansare, and senior journalist Gauri Lankesh. While interrogating accused Amol Kale, the team found out that a common pistol was used to murder all the four rationalists and the pistol was named as ‘Sudarshan Chakra’.
Recently, the ATS team had nabbed five accused for planning an attack on the state. During interrogation, Kale admitted that they had planned a bomb blast at the upcoming Sunburn music festival, which has been scheduled in Pune. He also admitted of carrying out other crimes such as opposing Padmaavat cinema, carrying out a bomb blast in Kalyan’s Bhanu Sagar and Belgaum’s Prakash cinema hall. Other accused Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar, Sudhanva Gondhalekar, and Shrikant Pangarkar’s police custody was extended by seven days by the court.
Two days ago, ATS had arrested Avinash Pawar from Ghatkopar's Bhatwadi area. Meanwhile, Karnataka SIT team arrived in Mumbai to trace the links between Gauri Lankesh murder case and accused related to Nalasopara explosives case.
When Karnataka SIT team interrogated the accused, the latter found out that Amol Kale was behind the murder of four rationalists and other accused Rajesh Bangar had provided the ammunition while Amit Degwekar was the one who provided money. Meanwhile, Parshuram Waghmare admitted that Kale had appointed him to carry out a shootout.
