According to a report by the news agency ANI, under the directions of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against former Mumbai Police Commissioner, Sanjay Pandey and ex-National Stock Exchange (NSE) Chief Chitra Ramkrishna. 

This the narrative says is being done in regards with the alleged tapping of phones of NSE employees between 2009 and 2017. Further, it adds that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also conducting raids in MumbaiPune amongst other parts of India in this connection. 

Earlier, Pandey had been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to appear before it in Delhi regarding the NSE co-location scam. Interestingly, the ED summon to Pandey came just two days after his retirement on June 30. 

Narratives claim that the firm incorporated by Pandey was one of the IT companies responsible for undertaking security audits at the NSE between 2010 to 2015. This is when the co-location scam is believed to have occurred.

The audit firm is being accused of not flagging any irregularities which came to light at a later date. Pandey and his firm are claimed to be investigated for " deliberate omission and commission", accounts cited.
