Uddhav Thackeray's security staff of 160+ members test negative for coronavirus

On Monday, a tea seller near Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's bungalow tested positive, and keeping this in mind, BMC had quarantined and tested more than 160 members of his security staff. They are now home quarantined for safety purposes.

A few days back it was reported that a tea vendor near Uddhav Thackeray's bungalow 'Matoshree' had tested positive for coronavirus. Keeping the critical condition in mind, more than 160 security staff from CM's team were tested for COVID19. As per the results received on Thursday, April 9, 2020, all the staff have tested negative, however, they have been home quarantined for safety reasons.

The information about the tea seller's health was reported on Monday, and upon knowing the same, all the staff members were immediately quarantined in Bandra East. This was done based on the protocol, as some members of the security team might have come in contact with the tea seller.

Swab samples were taken for the tests and civic health officials had informed about the same in a statement. The tea seller is currently being treated at Jogeshwari-based Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Municipal Hospital.

New staff has been deployed for the CM at Matoshree and their body temperature is being checked regularly for safety reasons. Besides this, as a precautionary measure, Ramdas Athavale's security staff was also replaced on Tuesday morning. 

As of Thursday, April 9, 2020, Maharashtra recorded 1864 cases, with the highest single-day increase in the cases. Mumbai witnessed an increase too and keeping this graph in mind, the state government and BMC officials are taking strict measures to curb the spread. Medical facilities are being made to quarantine more people and necessary equipment and treatment are being planned.
