As per reports, orders have been issued to ban drones, paragliders, remote-controlled micro-light aircraft, aerial missiles and other equipment by Mumbai Police Deputy Commissioner (Operations) and Executive Magistrate S. Chaitanya.

Moreover, the order states that action will be taken against the violators who do not abide by the rules under section 188 of the 1960 Act. According to sources, Maharashtra's secret service suspects that the country's financial capital, Mumbai, could once again witness a major terrorist attack. The police further stated that it is necessary that "certain restrictions" should be put on the activities of such elements across the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate to prevent possible sabotage through such flying objects in order to monitor the situation closely.

Following the letter from the intelligence department, the Mumbai Police has further issued an alert instructing security at all major places across the city. According to the alert issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Operations) of Mumbai Police, terrorists and anti-nationals can carry out the attack with the help of drones, remotely operated micro-light aircraft, aerial missiles or paragliders. The alert also raises suspicions that terrorists could target crowded places and posh areas. In addition to disrupting law and order, public property can also be damaged.

As a result, considering the input of the intelligence department, the police have banned any flying object/flying equipment, etc. in Mumbai. According to police, the order will remain in force for a month or so until further notice regarding the same.
