According to the Mumbai Police, on Wednesday, November 24, the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police busted an Indian banknote printing factory operating in the Pydhonie area, reported the news agency ANI.

During the bust, a 47-year-old man was arrested. Additionally, the police have also recovered 53 fake notes of INR 2,000 denomination. These have a face value of INR 1.06 lakh from the factory, stated the authority.

Based on the account, the arrested individual has been identified as a Shabbir Hasan Qureshi. From Qureshi’s house, a computer printer, as well as other material needed to manufacture fake notes were recovered by the authority.
Narratives have quoted the police elaborating on how the accused was printing notes at his house. They believe he has been doing so for the past few days. He has also distributed them in various markets in Mumbai.
The Pydhonie Police Station have arrested the accused. With this, the police are now looking for Qureshi’s accomplice. It has also been reported that Qureshi will be presented in court on Wednesday.
Additionally, further investigation is underway.
