Soon the adulteration of eatables and milk products will become an offense punishable by life imprisonment. After looking into the gravity of the crime, the state government has eventually decided to punish the criminals through stern action. The defaulters will be sentenced to life imprisonment and this bill will be introduced in the House.
The instances of adulteration have exponentially increased over the last few years, due to which, the lives of citizens have been endangered. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been making repeated attempts to curb adulteration of edibles and milk products but the crime was committed due to lack of stern laws against the crime.
While the cases of food adulteration were on the rise, FDA was making attempts to bring stern laws against the adulteration in order to curb the misconduct.
Meanwhile, earlier when the accused were proved to be guilty of adulteration, they would be punished within six months and also, the punishment was very lenient.
Therefore, FDA appealed to the state government to punish the defaulters by life imprisonment. Thus, soon the law to bring the adulterators to justice will be issued.
