Officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). in a recent operation,  cracked down on a gang operating a drug factory in Dongri area of Mumbai. As per reports, the police seized drugs, crores of rupees in cash and also arrested smugglers from the D-Gang. 

However, after the investigation of the accused, it came to light that in the last five years, the gang had earned by selling drugs worth over INR 1,500 crores.

NCB official Sameer Wankhade and his team received information about the same in just two days ago, the team took action against a drug factory operating in Dongri. During the operation, the NCB also seized weapons worth INR 2.18 crore and 12 kg of drugs. Police had arrested three persons, including Chinku Pathan, a gangster Dawood Ibrahim's gang.

The interrogation of the accused was conducted post which a diary was obtained which revealed shocking information that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's accomplice was financing terrorism by selling drugs in Mumbai. It has also come to light that this gang has sent thousands of crores of rupees to D-Gang by selling drugs worth INR 1,500 crore in the last five years. The police have also found the names of Dawood's brothers Anis Ibrahim and Fahim Machmach.

Meanwhile, NCB squad officer Sameer Wankhede on Friday also carried out major operations at four places across Dongri. The investigation further revealed that the D-Gang decided to smuggle drugs after the gold smuggling chain was broken. During the operation on Friday, January 22, 2021, the NCB arrested another accomplice of Dawood, Salman Nasir Pathan.

The raid is still going on in Dongri whereby some electronic items and other materials have been seized. The assets from drug trafficking will be confiscated, and information will be passed to the ED and NIA about all these crimes. NCB official Sameer Wankhade has claimed that Dawood's terror from Mumbai will end in a few days and drug trafficking will be stopped permanently.
