A fire broke out in a 5-storey building at Dadar's police station compound on May 12 in the afternoon. Shravani Chavan (16) was sleeping in her room and wasn't able to escape when the fire had engulfed the premises.

She was rushed to Sion Hospital and was declared dead before arrival. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, several electrical wirings and household items were set ablaze in the fire. The fire brigade had reached the spot and it took around three hours to get the situation under control.
Last month, a fire broke out in Goregaon's Cama Industrial Estate which was a godown for Dharma Productions.
