Five smugglers arrested in Kurla with INR 26 lakh worth cannabis

As per reports, the drugs and the car were sent from Andhra Pradesh for sale in Mumbai. Five people have been arrested in the case and further investigations are underway.

In a recent investigation, the Worli unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) seized 130 kg of cannabis worth INR 26 lakh and a car worth INR 13 lakh. As per reports, the same was sent from Andhra Pradesh for sale in Mumbai, and a total of five people have been arrested in the case. Further investigations are underway.

The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Sukhraj Raj Jaiswal (42), Durga Prasad Swami Yeddyu (24), Mohammad Sufian Hanif Khan (35), Mohammad Nisar Shaikh (31) and Nizamuddin Abdul Latif Shaikh (33).

Police have informed that drug smuggling has become rampant in the city and various security agencies are cracking down on drug smugglers. Similarly, the team at ANC's Worli unit, based on the information received, set a trap at Kurla (W), Kamani, Phoenix Market City Mall, and LBS Marg.

Five suspects were arrested along with a motor car, and the investigation also helped in finding 130 kg of cannabis in six rexine bags. The cannabis is said to be valued at INR 26 lakh and the seized car was valued at INR 13 lakh.
