Andheri - During intervening night of 02.02.2017, Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officers intercepted a female passenger, Nayeem Banu, who had arrived from Dubai by an Emirates flight # EK 506. The Indian passport holder was found in possession of 16 pieces of white gold strips and 12 washers of white gold collectively weighing 1 Kg valued at Rs 30,00,000/-. The recovered gold was cleverly concealed in the handles and inner metal frame of the trolley bag.

She has admitted that the gold belongs to one Arif Ahmed who lives in Dubai. A case has been booked and the passenger has been arrested.

The same evening, AIU officers intercepted one passenger Thayyil Majeed, holding an Indian passport, who had arrived from Dubai by an Indigo flight # 6E 062. The search of the passenger's checked-in-baggage resulted in the recovery of gold in ring shapes, weighing 1.235 kgs valued at Rs 32,77,591/- cleverly concealed in the periphery of the hosing of a vacuum cleaner pakced in his checked-in-baggage.

He admitted that the seized gold belongs to one Mohammed Ali and he carried the seized gold into India for a monetary consideration of Rs. 15,000. A case has been registered and the passenger has been arrested.
