An agent of Pakistan’s ISI has been arrested from Mumbai on Wednesday. The arrest has been made in the joint operation carried out by Maharashtra and UP ATS team. The accused, identified as Altaf Qureshi, was involved in the Hawala business and he had deposited money in the account of one Aftab Ali arrested in connection with terrorism.
The ATS team has also seized amount of Rs 70 lakh from Altaf Qureshi. The interrogation of Altaf is underway.
According to information, the Maharashtra and UP ATS team comprising Avinash Mishra, Satish Maikar and Jamil Ahmed Shaikh arrested the ISI agent from Pydhoni on Wednesday.
The arrested terror accused were connected on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. They were working on plans to give concrete shape to their terror acts. The bank details of all the arrested accused are being analysed. Further arrests cannot be ruled out in this case.
