Two deaths due to potholes in 24 hours is a serious concern and KDMC officials are least bothered.

Potholes on Kalyan roads claimed one more life. Kalpesh Jadhav was on his motorcycle on Kalyan’s Gandhari flyover, when his vehicle got stuck in a pothole and he fell on the road. He was crushed by a truck coming from behind. Jadhav died on the spot.

On July 12, 2018, a man named 'Anna' died when he fell on the road due to a pothole and was crushed by a truck. In the last month and half, three people have lost their lives in Kalyan due to the potholes. Previously, on June 2, 2018, an 8-year-old boy lost his life and recently, on July 7, 2018, a 45-year-old woman lost her life when her husband lost control of his motorcycle over a pothole and was crushed by an approaching truck.

According to the residents, they had complained of the same to the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) officials who did not budge. They have threatened to stage a protest against the officials if the roads are not repaired on an immediate basis.
