After 24 hours of discovering dead bodies of an elderly couple in Khar’s Ekta Delight building on Thursday morning, the Khar police solved this murder case and arrested a maid for killing the couple. The maid along with her boyfriend murdered the elderly couple.
Nanak Makhija (85) and Daya Makhija (81) – the aged couple - already had two helpers in the day. Pratibha, the culprit, was hired just fifteen days before to assist the elder couple at night. However, she got carried away from the money couple possessed and committed the crime along with her boyfriend. The police have also arrested him.
Both the culprits wanted to get married but did not have enough money. So, they planned to steal it from the Makhija couple. However, they were caught by Mr Makhija while pulling this off. Fearing the police complaint, both culprits killed the couple and escaped.
After this incident, in the morning, when the other helper came and knocked on the door, the dead bodies of the couple was discovered. The helper informed the police when no one answered the door.
While investigating, the police discovered that on the night of the murder, Pratibha had called her boyfriend many times. After interrogation, the maid confessed to her crime.
