Main accused in Malwani alcohol tragedy nabbed

The main accused for a crime that claimed more than 100 lives in the case of raw whiskey tragedy in 2015 in Malwani has finally been nabbed by the Thane crime branch. The accused was arrested from the Indore city of Madhya Pradesh known by the name of Dharmendra Jibli Singh aka Sanjay Singh.

As per a crime branch official, the crime branch team of Thane had destroyed the illegitimate model shops in Shil Daighar, but was on a hunt for the main supplier. It is during its investigation that the team came to know about the fact that it was Singh who had allegedly supplied the poisonous chemical that was mixed in the alcohol.

Hence, after getting the information, the team immediately left for Madhya Pradesh and arrested Singh after raiding his home. During the interrogation, Singh admitted to having supplied the poisonous alcohol in the Malwani tragedy. The accused has now been handed over to Mumbai Police.

In 2015, in Malwani tragedy, more than 100 people had died after consuming the poisonous alcohol and more than 120 people were admitted to a hospital.
