Leading Bollywood playback singer Palak Muchhal approached the Amboli police station to lodge a complaint against a man who has been harassing her over the phone. The 30-year-old man and had come to the city to meet his favourite playback singers and wanted to meet Muchchal.
During the investigation, it was found that Rajesh Kumar Shukla, the accused hailed from Sasaram in Bihar. According to sources, Shukla claims that he got the singer’s number from a telephone directory. After messaging her to meet him, he called her a few times and threatened her.
The Police tracked the number from which Muchhal received the threats. Shukla’s phone has been confiscated. A case has been registered under sections 354(D) (punishment for stalking) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, his device is also being looked into to see if he had plans to harass other female singers in Mumbai.
