Passengers traveling in a Mumbai local are always warned about not boarding or alighting from the train when it is moving. But, just like in many cases, they don’t listen to these messages or pay attention. Lately, many cases have been reported due to this negligence.

On the other hand, the role of GRP is also questioned. They, who are expected to guard, help or solve these issues, do not show enough interest in making the situation better. One more case of such an incident happened recently in Mumbai.

It was a shocking incident witnessed by many at Sanpada station on July 22, when the passenger, while alighting from the train crashed his head on the platform and injured himself. He laid there for a long time and even after the train was gone, the passenger was seen on the platform. Minutes later, a GRP saw the passenger but did not show interest in helping the passenger. Instead of rushing him to the hospital for medical aid, he ruthlessly picked the passenger and threw him in the next train, which arrived 15 minutes later.

It is being reported that as soon as the train arrived, the GRP's constable sought the help of a home guard to throw the passenger on the train, only to stay away from being questioned or from being a part of this incident. The two did not inform his relatives and decided to take such a drastic step to stay safe.

Unfortunately, the injured passenger reached the railway yard close to Panvel railway station, with no medical aid. On being spotted the next afternoon he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Solanki Pawar, and respective police department in Vashi has already suspended the constable. The departmental inquiry is underway and the service of the home guard has also been terminated.
