After Raj Thackeray's vindicating statement yesterday about the Mantralaya being a suicide point, there was another incident of attempt to suicide by 45-year-old Harshal Raote, who jumped off from the fifth floor of the Mantralaya building. The security personnel who was stationed there promptly called the ambulance and Raote was sent to St. George's Hospital where he was declared dead.

The leader of the opposition Dhananjay Munde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar were the first to reach Mantralaya post the incident. Minister Vinod Tawde said that the investigations are still going on as to why Raote was in the Mantralaya and in which case he was sentenced to jail.

Tawde assured that whether he accidentally fell down or committed suicide will be soon unearthed by the police. CCTV footage will also be examined to see what exactly happened.

A meeting of group leaders including Ajit Pawar Dhananjay Munde, Jayant Patil was held in the Legislative Assembly on the background of the budget session. This is the second incident in the week after Dharma Patil's death. The government has gone under scanner while the security of the Mantralaya and the efficiency of the system are being questioned.
