On Sunday, November 13, three people were nabbed for allegedly raping a minor married girl in Maharashtra’s Beed, highlighted reports. SP Beed Raja Ramasamy stated that the survivor is two months pregnant.

Ramasamy elaborated that a case has been lodged according to the complaint registered by the survivor, under the child marriage act, rape, molestation and POCSO.

He further dwelled into it mentioning that the minor girl is claimed to have been raped by 400 people in the past six months. It is being alleged that even the policemen are believed to have sexually taken advantage of the survivor.

According to an account by the Lokmat, the minor’s mother passed away almost two years ago after which she was married off by her father. She was at her in-law’s for more than a year but later went back to her parent’s home since her father-in-law harassed her, claimed the account. Then she went to the town of Ambejogai, looking for a job.

Here she was claimed to have been sexually assaulted by two individuals who had vowed to give her a job. Later, she was allegedly raped by multiple people that included a police officer. The narrative claims that the sexual abuse left her pregnant.

Based on certain narratives, the Child Welfare Committee’s procedure of aborting the foetus is ongoing, the case is now being probed by the authorities.
