The discovery of the body of a toddler suspected to have been murdered at Worli's Madraswadi in Motilal Nehru Nagar has shaken up the colony.

Two year old Yashwin Devendra's body was discovered on the terrace of an adjoining flat on Monday evening. There were no visible injuries on his body, but blood was seen oozing from his mouth. Yashwin's body has been sent for post mortem to the Nair Hospital.

According to the family, Yashwin's mother had sent him out to play on Sunday evening. When he failed to return, the family looked for him everywhere but could not find him. A missing person's complaint was filed with the Worli police.

The next evening, the police say blood dribbling from a corner of the terrace of the house next to Yashwin's. The body was discovered on the terrace. According to the boy's maternal uncle Sunil Devendra, Yashwin lost his father last year and was staying with his mother in her maternal home. The family does not have any enmity with anyone, he told the police.

DCP Pravin Padwal told Mumbai Live that further investigations will be carried out after the post mortem report is received.
