Five years ago, a man from Pimpri near Pune, who had visited Mumbai, was reported as "missing" since then. However, during a drive to trace a missing person, he was found in Nalasopara on Tuesday, December 15.

In a shocking revelation by his mother, it came across as he had suddenly got in touch last year, but went incommunicado after that.

With another twist in the story, it turned out that the now 26-year-old was in love and got married. Why he chose to get married surreptitiously is not known. All along, his folks had been looking for him.

In 2015, the man and his mother had come to visit a relative in Virar. In August, the two boarded a train at Dadar to get home. His mother got into the women's coach. When she got off at Pimpri, the boy was not to be found. She later lodged a missing person's complaint with the railway police who found no trace of him.

After five years, the railway police started probing the son’s missing case on December 7 and got in touch with his mother. She said his son had contacted her last year to say he was fine, but that was the only contact with him. She gave the police the phone number from which he had called her up and linked the thread’s case to Mumbai.

With the help of the phone number, they soon traced his address to Nalasopara. When cops reached the address, he was not at home. Neighbours told them of about his workplace. The cops found him there on Tuesday, December 15.

On interrogating him, the man revealed that he had got off the train that day. He said that he was in love with a girl from Mumbai and tied the knot without informing his family. He had settled in Nalasopara with his wife and had no plan to go back to Pimpri, said the officer.
