In connection with Rajesh Maru death case, Agripada police arrested Dr. Siddhant Shah on Thursday night. A few days back, Rajesh Maru died after getting sucked in an MRI machine at Nair Hospital. Dr Shah was held responsible for Maru's death.
Rajesh Maru had gone to Nair hospital to visit his relative. He was asked to enter the MRI room with his relative. Despite asking, he was told that the machine was switched off. However, when he entered the room with the cylinder, the machine was unfortunately on and he was pulled towards the machine. Because of the magnetic force, the nob of the cylinder opened up and the gas started leaking. Within a few minutes, Maru inhaled all the gas and died on the spot.
Prior to Dr. Shah's arrest, Agripada police arrested Dr. Saurabh Lanjekar, ward boy Vitthalwadi Chavhan and attendant Sunita Surve. And on Thursday night, Dr. Siddhant Shah, who was the head of the department, was arrested as well.
