A 59-year-old man was strangled to death in Dharavi. The mobile phone, watch and ring of the deceased are missing and Shahu Nagar police have registered a case of forced theft and murder in this case and a 26-year-old youth has been arrested by the police.


The deceased Yashwant Sonawane lived in room no. 23 at Adarsh Nagar behind a flour mill in Dharavi. Sonawane was strangled to death at his residence early Sunday morning. It has been found in the Panchnama that he was beaten on his genitals. After the incident, he was taken to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Shiv, where doctors declared him dead.

Shahu Nagar police have registered a case of forced theft and murder on the complaint of Sonawane's brother Suryakant Sonawane. Suryakant Sonawane has mentioned in the complaint that the mobile phone, watch and ring of the deceased are missing. Jemb Paul Kararan (26), who lives in the area, was arrested by the Shahu Nagar police on Sunday night after registering a case in this case. The police informed that the police are conducting further investigation in this matter.
