The girl who killed her mother in Mumbai's Lalbaug area was produced in the court on Monday. During the hearing, when the judge asked the accused Rimple Jain why she killed her mother and cut her into pieces, she replied that she did not kill her mother (Veena Jain) but cut her body into pieces.  The court has remanded Rimple Jain in police custody till March 24.

The police and the neighbours living next to Rimple's house were shocked to see the manner in which Veena Jain's murder unfolded in Mumbai's Lalbaug. As Rimple Jain lived with her mother's body parts for three months. She had brought 200 perfume bottles, 40 air fresheners, and fennel bottles in the house to suppress the foul smell of the body parts of her mother.

The case came to light when her brother smelled bad odour when he visited her a week ago. When he asked Rimple where her mother (Veena Jain) was, Rimple said that her mother had gone to Kanpur. But he got suspicious because there was some kind of bad smell in the house. He told this matter to the police. When the police searched Rimple's house, they found body parts of Veena Jain at various places in the house. Rimple was then arrested.

What exactly did Rimple Jain say in court?

“On December 27, 2022, my mother fell down from the first floor. Two hotel boys helped me in picking her up. Mother died on the same day. At that time, I thought that if I tell that mother died after falling down, all will blame me and the house and the money in the bank belonging to my mother's uncle will not be able to claim. Fearing this,  I cut my mother's body into pieces and hid it in various places in the house.”

This situation came to light on March 14

After Veena Jain's death, Rimple dismembered her body and lived with it for three months. When police searched Rimple's house, they found electronic marble cutters, chisels, knives from the house which had been seized. The accused girl cut the mother's body into pieces with a sharp weapon and kept it in a plastic bag. These bags were kept in cupboards, drums, and fridge. After the search, the police informed that air fresheners, 200 perfume bottles, and fennel bottles were brought to prevent the spread of stench from all this.

Crime committed by watching a crime show

According to the police, Rimple used to watch a crime show, which helped her commit the crime. The police have confiscated Rimple's mobile phone. She googled how to decompose a dead body. The police also said that she used perfume and air freshener to reduce the stench, as per the report by ABP Majha.
