According to police, the accused were produced before a magistrate court and remanded to custody to facilitate further interrogation. Officials have sought permission to question the two peddlers alongside the main supplier in the case to establish links and trace the larger drug network.
The case relates to the deaths of two MBA students who allegedly consumed ecstasy pills during a techno concert held at the venue on April 11. The incident had triggered a massive investigation, leading to multiple arrests, including alleged suppliers, intermediaries, and individuals linked to the event.
Investigators suspect a well-organised drug supply chain operating around such events. Police believe that confronting the accused together could help reveal how the drugs were procured, distributed, and circulated at the concert.
Earlier investigations had also indicated the involvement of several individuals, including venue staff and facilitators, with authorities probing possible lapses that allowed the entry and circulation of narcotics inside the premises.
The case has raised serious concerns over drug abuse at large-scale events in Mumbai, with authorities tightening scrutiny on organisers and security arrangements.
