On Tuesday, November 26, two Borivali residents Sagar Patel (24) and Anil Waghela (29) were crushed to death by an unidentified heavy vehicle while they were heading towards Malad on the Western Express Highway. The accident was severe and the deceased were killed on the spot. The driver fled from the spot.

During the investigations, Samta Nagar Police station stated that they are scrutinising CCTV Cameras that are placed at various spots on the highway, however, the place where the accident took place, there was no CCTV placed. The police are yet to ascertain the vehicle and the driver responsible for this. Moreover, they further said that Patel and Waghela had not worn their helmets.
Meanwhile, the police have booked an unidentified driver, who they think is responsible for the incident under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for causing death due to negligence, rash driving on a public way.
