According to officials, the incident took place near a site opposite the MHADA office in the Kherwadi area, where the guard was attacked with a knife by an unidentified person. He sustained serious injuries to his neck and hands and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police suspect that a personal dispute, possibly linked to a phone call or a minor argument, may have led to the attack. However, investigators are also exploring other possible angles.
A case of murder has been registered by the Kherwadi Police, and efforts are underway to trace the accused. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined as part of the investigation.
