A person living in the Ulwe area of Navi Mumbai had a liquor party with his friend at home. After the party, the friend stayed over and slept at his house. However, after some time when the person woke up, he realised that things were in a mess and his friend was gone as well. A case has been registered against his friend alleging that the latter committed the theft.

This has happened with Shubhjyoti Sengupta who lives in Ulwe. Shubhjyoti and his friend Krishna were partying at Shubhjyoti’s house on March 18. After the party, Shubhjyoti showed the ornaments to Krishna and put them back in the cupboard. Krishna told Shubhjyoti to sleep in the bedroom. So, Shubhjyoti slept in the bedroom while Krishna slept in the sitting room.

After some time Shubhjyoti woke up and realised that Krishna was not in the house. So when they searched, Krishna was not found and the door of the house was found to be open. So when Shubhjyoti first checked whether the jewellery was there, it came to light that the jewellery had been stolen. A total of jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh 15 thousand was stolen. Since there was no one in the house except the two of them and Krishna was not found when the incident took place, Shubhjyoti was convinced that Krishna had committed the theft. Based on the complaint filed at the NRI police station, the police have registered a case against Krishna.
