On Monday, September 14, Oshiwara police arrested a television actor in Mumbai who allegedly lured a 22-year-old girl by promising her work in the film industry. He then had sexual relations with her. The accused is identified as Arjun Kumar Mutneja (33) and is said to be in a marriage currently. Oshiwara police are investigating the matter further.
In recent developments, on February 15, 2022, the High Court of Judicature at Bombay Criminal Appellate Side Jurisdiction issued an order to set aside the FIR registered under Section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 with Oshiwara Police station against Mutneja.
Reports state that the young woman is originally from Parbhani and had come to Mumbai two years back to work in the entertainment industry. While trying to get a job in the film, she met Arjun Kumar, and since then, they both bonded well and became friends. It is said that eventually, the two fell in love.
However, due to the coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown, situation worsened for the actress and it was difficult for her to apply for a loan. Following this, she met Arjun and invited her to stay at his house. He then promised to marry her and had sex with her. However, she later found out that the actor was already married and had a four-year-old child.
The actress confirmed his marital relationship by calling his wife and found out about their child. Upon knowing the same, she lodged a complaint at the Oshiwara police station after realizing that she had been cheated. Officers then registered a case and arrested Arjun regarding the same.
Arjun's social media profiles claim that he has been a part of popular shows like Mallika Ka Swayamvar, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Pavitra Rishta, Dil Dosti Dance, Gandii Baat and others.
