In connection with anchor Arpita Tiwari's murder case, Malwani police have arrested her friend Amit Hazara on Monday morning. He was arrested after he was put through a lie-detector test which proved that he was involved in Tiwari's murder case.

After arresting him, police presented him in court, where he was sentenced to police custody until January 20.

Facebook chat made the arrest

While investigating, Malwani police came across a chat which took place between Tiwari and Hazara on December 10 i.e. the day prior to her murder. Police found it suspicious and they decided to carry out a lie-detector test on Hazara to find out the truth.

What is the case?

On December 11, 2018, police found Arpita Tiwari's dead body on the second-floor duct of Manav Kalyan building, Malwani. Her body was in the semi-nude state and was in a pool of blood.

Upon investigation, police found out that she was living in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend Pankaj Jadhav and was residing for the past 5 years on the 15th floor flat in the same building, where her body was found.

On the day of her murder, she met her parents and told them that she will be going to Essel World for some programme. But the very same day, she went to her friend Pankaj’s house for a party.

The next morning, when everyone woke up, Arpita was nowhere to be seen. Finally, when police arrived, they found her dead body on the second floor's duct.

Initially, Malwani police had filed a case of accidental death but her parents forced the police, that it was a murder and not a suicide. Finally, police gave in to the pressure of her parents and filed a case against an unknown man for the murder of anchor Arpita Tiwari.
