Earlier on Monday, July 26, the authorities had laid a trap and sent a fake customer at the Sairaj Lodging and Boarding situated in Dombivli east, where the prostitution racket was being operated.

Meanwhile, the fake customer was followed by a team of police who then raided the lodge and arrested the accused while freeing the women involved. Two agents, along with the lodge manager, cashier and two waiters were arrested by the officials. Furthermore, they have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including sections 376 (2), 370 (2) and 34.

On the other hand, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a slew of raids across Maharashtra between June 26 and July 9. A total of 384 establishments were inspected, the official stated in a release.
